Guide/Tips on leveling up characters/cards?

Like Puzzle & Dragons and Tower of Saviors you have some monsters that give more exp than others, which means there are a "best" pattern to lvl up your cards. Are there any guide or tips about this on this game?
How do you lvl up your cards? Feel like when they get lvl 30 plus you should only lvl up with turtles (and other cards that give more exp like same character) or else you will go out of beli quite fast. Do you guys experience the same thing? And do you guys lvl up those trash cards to a specific lvl then give it to your main card or do you just sell them?
